Groups
Leather Retreat was formed with the goal of bringing together the members of various BDSM educational and support groups for opportunities to interact, build relationships and have fun. Therefore we have approached many of the BDSM educational groups and asked them to participate in Leather Retreat so we can help to tie our community together.
A BDSM educational group is defined as a group who charges a membership fee, holds regular meetings, and distributes BDSM educational materials. Once a group has been accepted as participating that status is rolled over each year unless either the group or Leather Retreat specifically requests to end the relationship. This way we save everyone a lot of paperwork.
Participating in Leather Retreat 2007
In order for an Educational Group to be considered "participating" and receive the discounted rate for it's members, we ask they participate in the following manner:
- Notify group members of the event and the special pricing available to them. (Note that any additional expenditures needed to make a timely notification will gladly be borne by Community Ties)
- Verify that registrants claiming a discount as current club members actually are current members in good standing at the time of their registration. (Groups do not have to collect registrations from their members, give out special codes or provide us with a copy of their membership list. We will provide them with a list of registrants claiming to be members for them to verify.)
- Support Leather Retreat if appropriate. This is a very flexible requirement and can range from teaching a class, running a special event, participating in a special event or even just hanging your club's colors at headquarters so we all know your group is there. The Black Rose, for example, is dedicated to safety and education. It has developed a Dungeon Monitor's Guide and gives multiple Dungeon Monitor classes during the course of the event for the last 7 years. If you are coming from a participating group we encourage you to take part in Leather Retreat programming and show off your organization.
How do I add my Group?
Have someone from the leadership of your group contact us info@leatherretreat.com and confirm they agree to the guidelines above. We will then add your group to the list.
Please note that we will NOT retroactively discount members who have already registered for Leather Retreat.
